Checking you blind spot in relation to mirrors is something we will be teaching you how to do on your driving lessons with us.
Your blind spot is the area that cannot be seen in either normal forward vision or when using your mirrors.
The main blind spots are the areas between what you will see as you look forward and what you will see in your exterior mirror and the areas obscured by the bodywork of the vehicle when you look in your mirrors. Different size vehicles will have different blind spot locations but generally around the same place.
To check your blind spot we will teach you to always look round over your right shoulder to check your blind spot as this is where it is located.
You will do this when you are taking off from a stationary position or making any kind of maneuver.
There will also be occasions when it will be necessary for you to check your blind spot on the move which can be either side of you but you will not need to look fully around, but just a quick sideways glance.
Looking around you while driving as you can expect is very dangerous and you must not take your eye off the road for any period of time so remember when checking your blind spot on the move its just a quick glance.
